Everything you do, do it with purpose.

Tell stories that people can relate to.

Demand responsibility but don’t worry about authority. Dismiss all notions of hierarchy.

Reflect credit but embrace blame.

We used to live in an Industrial economy, now we live in a connection economy. Everyone owns a media company in their pocket. We have never had an outlet to the world like we have now. Our ability to facilitate convening is powerful.

If they don’t get it, go somewhere else. Don’t try to impact everyone, just try to make an impact on a few people.

Build your product based on what you want your customers to become. Be aspirational. Apple wants to turn their customers into those who have good taste. Aim for the same with clients and anyone you work for/with. Ask yourself, how do you want to change your customers?

Pick yourself. Don’t let other people pick you.

Go on a “radical information diet” instead of scrolling through your tweets to see how many replies you get. Focus on your work.

The idea comes within the wrapper, but the idea is what sticks. Ex: Malcolm Gladwell’s ‘Tipping Point’, people remember the concept and then reference the book, not the other way around.

We used to live in a society of scarcity (scarcity of resources, jobs etc.,) now we live in a culture of abundance. There is no reason to take what you can get when everything is available.
